Kutami that is a fantasical high land town.

Today, Im going to explain Kutami from now.

The town is located in on the mountain, so it’s 500 m high.

The town still have several anciant town atmosphere in the shopping district.

History of Kutami

In the past, the high land is quite sifnificant town.

Because, this town was boarder town between two small countries.

So, this town had important road across the two small countries.

Nowadays, the town has only 1,000 people, but there are still old atmosphere.

How to go to the fantasical town by bike.

As you know, we are able to get the town by bike.

There are several routes, but, I am going to describe a main route.

If you want to go to the town, you can take a prefectural road no 83.

There is a difference of about 400 m from the central Yaotsu to the town.

So, you have to struggle to get the town.

But, if you get on the hill, you can see the view of the wide rice fields.

It’s the real countryside of Japan.

Explore the fantasical town

You can see the town of Kutami easily.

If you can go to the center of the town, I recommend you to go to the local restaurant called “Yamadaya”.

The building is quite impressive for foreign persons.

This is the real old architecture in this town.

You can take lunch and breakfast in this place.

The shop staff are really kind and polite.

If you can leave at the restaurant, you can see the Japanese traditinal store called “Oosawaya”.

This store has several Japanese traditional food called “Anmaki”.

Its a little bit sweet.

Its affordable yet good taste.

The great shrine called “Kutami shrine”.

The end of the town, there is a huge shrine called “Shirahige shrine”.

The shrine has seveal huge trees that are sacred.

Local people believe that the shrine and trees have god.
